Description:

Sutherland, an internationally recognized law firm with offices in Atlanta, Austin, Geneva, Houston, London, New York, Sacramento and Washington, D.C., has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager in the Tax Group located in Washington, D.C.


Duties and Responsibilities:

The SBD is responsible for the development and implementation of business development strategies, goals, and projects for the Tax group. Under general supervision of the Director of Marketing, the Senior Business Development Manager is expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.


Requirements:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with all levels of personnel.
• Knowledgeable in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with research and client contact databases.
• Able to manage and prioritize a heavy workload, meet deadlines, delegate tasks and maintain a positive attitude.
• Client-service oriented and able to work well both independently and as a positive, effective team member.
• Work experience in business development in a large, multi-office law firm or other professional services firm for at least eight years with five of these years as a manager or director.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in marketing or business administration. An MBA is desired.
