Description:

Baker Hostetler’s Firmwide Marketing department has an excellent opportunity for a National Marketing Manager – Washington, D.C., Office and Tax Group. This position is responsible for developing and leading all marketing and communications activities for the Washington, D.C., office and the Tax Group of the Firm, as well as assisting with lateral recruiting and coordinating successful client and office educational and social events. Additional responsibilities include the following:

• Work with all D.C. office practice groups and teams and marketing leaders to develop a national marketing plan focused on advancing goals and objectives.

• Coordinate marketing staff and resources to support the execution of the national marketing plan, including: internal communications, media relations, events and research.

• Plan, develop and execute client development and target programs.

• Maintain progress reports on marketing activities, proposals and customer satisfaction.

• Develop print and online marketing materials used to promote the position of the Practice Groups and Office and advance the brand of the Firm.

• Coordinate strategic planning and production of client proposals.

• Communicate success of the Practice Group and Office internally and externally, including maintenance of related services databases.

• Coordinate media relations for the Practice Group and Office.

• Coordinate production and participation in Firm, Group, Office and industry conferences.

• Participate in regular meetings of Practice Group and office partners, Firmwide Marketing, as well as present a year-end report on the program of the marketing plan.

• Assist with lateral recruiting and support marketing efforts for the IP Group coordinated out of the New York office, as well as other practice groups and teams with attorneys practicing in Washington.


Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) plus seven years of related experience. Professional services firm marketing, recruiting, and client development experience highly desirable.

• Demonstrated success strengthening corporate reputations and client relationships. 

• Proven ability to be a self-starter with high energy, manage major projects, while coordinating the activities of department resources and senior management. 

• Excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills. 

• Experience responding in writing to client requests for proposal (“RFP’s”).

• Interactive marketing experience is a plus for online activities. 

• Foreign language skills and a master’s degree would be a plus but are not required.
