Description:
The Webb Law Firm has a great opportunity for an experienced business development and marketing professional to support the firm’s national and international Intellectual Property (IP) practice. The successful candidate will be strategic, outgoing, creative, and detail oriented. This newly created position is very hands-on with no direct reports but shared administrative assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyze and track clients (retention, new business, cross-selling opportunities).
• Train lawyers in business development skills.
• Work with individual lawyers to identify opportunities, activities and targets.
• Brainstorm opportunities, activities and strategies with teams of lawyers.
• Follow-up with individual lawyers and groups of lawyers on assigned activities.
• Participate in the development of proposals or pitches for business.
• Assist with the targeting of new business, including research, strategy, etc.
• Interface with clients, including gathering feedback, organizing an advisory council, etc.
• Manage and make recommendations about firm communications and branding activities; develop compelling messages to be used on the website and in materials, proposals, etc.
• Manage the firm’s public relations efforts and outside consultant; write press releases.
• Bring external information to the firm.
• Identify and participate in targeted events and networking opportunities.
• Assist with the strategy for particular activities and oversee efforts to execute, such as website, ads, materials, events, mailings, etc.
• Coordinate and communicate individual and group efforts internally.
• Represent the firm in the community.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
• Marketing or business degree.
• Experience in providing business development or sales support, including research, strategy, proposals, etc.
• Experience in a professional services or business-to-business environment; legal industry experience preferred.
• Great organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiar with the IP business and the geographic region.
• Positive attitude.
• High energy and self-starter.
• Outgoing personality and mature.
• Personally active in community or professional activities.
